Exponent Quotient Rule

xa / xb = x(a-b)

Let's say a = 3 and b = 3... 3 - 3 = 0, x ^ 0 = 1...

hmm...

There's another way to look at this... let's break everything down.

x4 / x3

x * x * x * x / x * x * x

Cross off the common factors...

x * x * x * x / x * x * x

All we're left with is... x

x = x1 = x(4-3)

Bingo.
